the electric bill

how much does an e bike add to your power bill?. Maybe some more than others?.

What is the common increase in the energy costs?

Does anyone know of any guzzlers out there?.

Bikes: 27 speed ORYX with over 39,000Kms on it and another 14,000KMs with a BionX E-Assist on it

Practically nothing... 2.9Cents per charge or less, would be my guess...

Bikes: too many of all kinds

36v10ah battery has 360 watt hours. 2 amp charger takes 5 hours to fill up. What rate does your electric company use?

Pro tip - its cheaper to charge at night!

So about 4 cents if your electric rate is $0.12/kwh. I doubt if anyone uses their electric bike enough to even notice the increased electric bill.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

Keep in mind that batteries tend to be in the range of a few hundred watt hours. Residential electricity is billed in kilowatt hours, at a range straddling 10 cents per kwh, so a full charge might cost about a nickle where electricity is fairly pricey.

I suspect that wear and tear on the battery, and ultimate replacement will be a bigger expense than the juice consumed.

Wow. Didn't even make past the first few posts and already people are being mean. It's been cleaned up and I'm hoping with the Holiday season everyone remembers to be nice to each other.

Full Gas please leave this thread.

Thank you.
