E-Bike or Cruiser?

It started out as just an addition to the cruiser quiver until I realized that pedaling a 65lb. stretch custom cruiser up the street to my house was not gonna happen.

The stats. 1300W front hub motor, custom dual 52V batteries (wired in parallel) from Doug Daut @ Electric Bike Solutions. F/R disc brakes, custom dyed & powder coated Brooks saddle, custom wood tank insert, custom polished Brooks grips, vintage acetylene lamp/electric conversion, custom leather panniers/saddle bags (housing batteries & ECU) & Crane Suzu bell. All other parts custom fabricated by Anthony Hobbs, Flying Machine Cycles, mechanical & E-Bike integration by Mark Deezy, Sutter St. Cruisers. Expected completion, November 2018.

Certainly a beautiful bike! 1300 watts is quite a lot for a front wheel?

For some other handmade classics, you might be interested in having a look at the website and pictures for Jules Cycles in Buenos Aires. More pictures at https://www.facebook.com/julescycles.

Last fall, I had the pleasure of spending a day with him in his shop and having a ride around the city on one of his bikes.

Bikes: DIY

Hope they're planning to employ two torque arms (JMO). Looks like a stunner.

Bikes: GT Transeo & a half dozen ebike conversions.

Your builder must be pretty good if he can keep a 16 pound motor in that suspension fork.

Bikes: K2 (Marzocchi/Fox), Trek 6000 (red) MARS Elite up front, Specialized Hardrock Sport -> eBike (R7 Elite up front), lastly TREK 820 loaner. Recently sold Peugeot du Monde Record and 1956 Schwinn (owned since new).

Talking

Ruff good

Stretched cruisers and rat-rod-bikes are obvious candidates for e-Bike conversions. Good build
