Shocks from ebike??

Hi!

About a month or so ago, I was riding on my ebike from Cyclotricity that is a couple years old.
And while riding, I squeezed the brake pedals and I felt some shock currents on my hands.
Ever since, it's happening every so often whenever I use the brakes.
I can't seem to diagnose the issue, and my temporary solution is to wrap some electrical tapes around the brake pedals.

Would love to hear some ideas. CHeers!

Keep water off your feet so the brake pedals don't get wet.

Bikes: GT Transeo & a half dozen ebike conversions.

The motor/control circuits are isolated from the bike, but there is the battery voltage (30-55 V DC) and an AC component from the motor that could possibly leak out. Most people cannot feel the DC, but add the AC and it will tingle. Wonder if it's going between the two brake levers. That could be bad.

Are the brake levers bare metal or painted/anodized? I'd try to see if my voltmeter could measure anything between each lever on AC/DC. Maybe disconnect the brake sensors.

Maybe it's just static electricity.
