Shipping a Lithium Battery

In another thread shipping Lithium was discussed, but the only aspect resolved was batteries in excess of 300 w/h need to be shipped with HAZMAT identification (by UPS, didn't check other shippers since UPS is the only one that I use). UPS stated they would pick the battery up only from a certified broker. The scary aspect (to me) is a $50K fine if anything untoward is discovered. Anyone shipped 300+ w/h batteries successfully legally lately?
