Chargers?

I have a 36V Bosch system on a Trek Verve+2. My charger is only a 2 amp system. It takes hours to charge my battery. What other chargers are available? Is the Satiator one I remember from Grin? Others I could buy. I think I want at least a 4 amp to get a faster charge without harm to my battery. Be Well, Bluesfrog.

I do not know of third party chargers, but Bosch offers a 4 A and a 6 A charger that claims a full charge in 2 hrs. The price is not terribly expensive, but still a hit to the wallet

Bikes: Foundry Chilkoot Ti W/Ultegra Di2, Salsa Timberjack Ti, Cinelli Mash Work RandoCross Fun Time Machine, 1x9 XT Parts Hybrid, Co-Motion Cascadia, Specialized Langster, Phil Wood Apple VeloXS Frame (w/DA 7400), R+M Supercharger2 Rohloff, Habanero Ti 26

Bosch does a 4ah charger and at least in EuroDisney they do a 6ah charger. The 4ah charger takes about 4 hours from zero but I would avoid running it down to zero and if you are doing that regularly you either need to charge more or upgrade batteries to a 500wh.

Ideally you want to bring the bike down to around 20% and not store it for long periods at 100% for best battery health. Also feel free to charge overnight we do it all the time with no issue.

Be well also.

Thanks Marcus and Vegan for your information. I was looking at the Battery Satiator from Grin Technologies. I didn't determine which one to buy. I will look for the 6AH Bosch charger. Be Well, Bluesfrog.

Apologies. It seems the 6 amp charger is not available in North America, but they are sold in Europe and definitely cheaper than the Satiator

How do you adapt the five pins on the charger to three on the battery? I suppose you have to know the correct ones to use? I need an electrical wizard here. It would be nice to have a larger capacity battery as well. I think this one is a 400 AH and it seems like I remember a 500 in the past. On one I was demo-ed a couple of years ago I was told you could get a harness to use another of the same size battery to double the AH available. That would be nice to do also. But their price of around $700 is too high. I may wait and see about a different controller and heavier battery when the warranty goes out. Probably to overvolt a bit. Musings of a novice I guess. I have never done any of these things. I am waiting to get a motor kit for a folding bike I have. It will be my first foray into building up an electric bike. Thanks for all the suggestions and Be well, Bluesfrog.
