Ford-branded ebikes
Folks better versed in ebikes than I can probably figure out whether these are a badging effort or if Ford might have involved themselves in the designs and specs. New choices (to me) available on line and through Ford dealers.

Mustang (street) and Bronco (dirt) options. Class 3, 68 chunky pounds, rear hub drive, 1X9 chain drive w/ mechanical shifting. $4k/$4.5k, respectively.

An earlier time someone from the auto industry got involved in ebikes...
...at least the new ones follow some current styling trend.

What is curious is that 90 day "made to order" time.

If you look at the accessories, the image of the charger is literally the exact same image that Mercedes uses for their e-bikes, which are “licensed” from n+ bikes, another bike company I’ve never heard of. They have a bike which looks somewhat similar to one of the ford ones, so i wouldn’t be surprised if they come from the same factory/design shop in china.

For the price, one should be getting more than a hub drive ebike, not to mention it may be the heaviest ebike on the market.

I agree about Lee; his bikes were hampered by lead-acid batteries; I rode one many years ago and it wasn't a bad bike. Also, I don't have a problem with Ford contracting a Chinese company to manufacture their bikes, but this is a < $2K model IMO.

They LOOK great, and are probably good mechanically, but the overall design is not well thought-out:
- The tail light is blocked by the rear tire (even without a rack or fenders!)
- No provisions for rack or fenders?
- Headlight is not well-integrated.
If you want an American heritage brand, Harley has done a MUCH nicer job on their Serial 1 eBikes, even dedicated some engineering resources to them: (they were Harley before they re-branded to Serial 1)

(no suspension on the city models though...)
