front frame mounted motor

I would like to mount a 5 to 6 pound electric motor to the front of my beach cycle. The fork has a suspension. I do not ride the bike offroad or on a beach. I bought it because I enjoy the control of the wide handlebars, the comfort of the wide seat and the relative uprightness of the sitting position.

Will I experience any handling problems with a 6 pound motor attached to the top of the fork? It will be driving the wheel by chain.

Bikes: Rocky Mountain electric bike

Shouldn't be much different from front panniers. Are you using a disc brake front hub with a sprocket bolted on?
