my search is over.

finally found a great electric kit to end my quest. Almost 4 years ago i started looking at electric bikes and conversion kits. Came really close to getting a bionix kit but things did not work out so i backed out of the deal.

Electric pedal bikes were just "not there" yet. So i tried one of those 500w scooter/bike things. was ok but could not really pedal them so i sold it and got a 50cc scooter.

Now almost spring of 2011 and 4 yrs since this all started. i have gone thru 4 bikes. A 500w "scooter" .. a 50cc scooter..then the 50cc with a 80cc cylinder kit....to a 150 cc scooter...to now a 460cc scooter.

due to health problems i could not ride my pedal bike as much as i used to..

Then a few months ago i came across this store. just happened to be a block away from my motorized scooter dealer. So after looking at the
website ..i decided to pay a visit to the store to see what they could do for me...

the store... https://www.raybenmotors.com/

i really liked their kit. especially the way they designed the battery(Lithium (LiFEPO4) 48v battery (10 amp/hr)) to fit in a slot on the rear rack.
so i had them install the kit on my Brodie road bike. I love this kit and so glad i got it. i find i am riding the electric more now especially for shorter trips.

living downtown its really fun now zipping all over and for trips of around 10km its just about as fast as the scooter. if you factor in traffic
i can get to places faster on the Brodie. and even better now that we have some dedicated and segregated bike routes.

i mostly use the electric as a pedal assist so that way i still get exercise ... and its better than the electric scooter types as i can pedal assist up big hills and thus dont slow down too much ..

its nice to be able to ride again and zoom up hills that b4 i had to walk up.

Bikes: Norco

is it motor with no gears /gearless/ or there are gears in motor?
Is it noisy.
On other point,
it doesn't make much sense to carry 48V battery when system restrict to 20Miles/hour, or is it de-restricted?

Good questions. I just wanna bring up a point cus you mentioned it. I have a 20 mph 36v kit and i'm adding another battery. Here the electric limit is 20 mph but I do not see how they can really enforce that because the limit for a 49 cc motor is 25 mph.

Just like a car there are times when you just cannot stop.. and instead need to speed up to aviod something. I feel if im doing my max at 20 mph I have no extra power left to speed up and that's dangerous. I want the extra power in case I need it in those situations. I feel this is justified and only right.

You know what I'm gonna say...
Electric bike is not a moped.
Eb=20 - moped =25
