Controller wiring
Great site. I look foward to reading about all of these great ebikes.
I've recently started on mh first ebike. As i'm fat i opted for a mountain bike and 1,000 watt hub motor. I know a non-hub motor would probably make for a lower gear ratio, but for ease of install and this being my first bike. I figured the bolt on option would be best.
My problem is that i bought a china made kit and when i went to test the throttle, it broke. I ordered another 4way wire hall effect throttle and it looks almost identical to the original. Howerver, i can't seem to get it wired up correctly. It has a n led battery life guage. The throttle came with a wire chart as follows.
Throttle : controller: Red. Red Black Black. Black or yellow green. Green, blue, or white Yellow. Orange or yellow
The controller came with no paperwork at all. It has a sticker on it that reads. 1.1 - 4.2 volt. 48v, 1,000 watts. Model syk-48-100w.
It has black, red, blue, and white wires.
Thank you for any input. I'm at a loss here. Also, sorry for the crazy formatting. I'm on a cell phone and not at all used to this.
UPDATE: i found a short in the plugin going to my throttle from the controller. I still can't get it to work. I do know it's getting plenty of power though. My dad came out to help me figure out his 8 billion option multi meter and when we tested the last pair of wires to figure out what's what it hit him and then tried to climb up the shop wall while dragging me cussing behind it.

For electrical wiring help you will probably find better results at endless sphere. They have lots of electric geeks over there and have probably torn apart and built almost everything you can imagine.

throttle with LED gauge, Does it come with 4 wires, one in a single connector and 3 in another connector, with red, black and green or blue etc. If it does, red goes to red, black to black and remainding wire goes the wire left in the controller connector.. I didn't hookup the LED gauge as it is not accurate. does ths help?
