36v on a 24v hubmotor ?

Is there any advantage to powering a 24v motor to 36v vs just using a 36 v motor to begin with? I'm trying to create a medium speed hubmotor (about 250-260rpm) out of a 201 rpm motor. If anyone sold a medium speed motor, I'd buy it but all I can find is 201 and 328 motors.
