Bikes: too many of all kinds

I rode a bike just like that a few months ago. Very basic level components, obviously nothing fancy or too durable at that price point. Personally, I wouldn't get a 24v system as it is going to be pretty slow. Top speed of 15mph, so if your OK with that, what the heck. I am building a 36v kit with what looks to be the same parts, and the kit cost $500. So, for an extra $300 you are getting a bicycle and installation. Not too bad of a deal I guess.

If you really got bored some day, you could put in a 36v battery into that system and be good for 20mph.

I would put the speed at 14-15mph, and the range at 20 miles (not the 27 they list) but that of course all depends on how much you pedal.

Bikes: Too many to list, some I built myself including the frame. I "do" ~ Human-Only-Pedal-Powered-Cycles, Human-Electric-Hybrid-Cycles, Human-IC-Hybrid-Cycles, and one Human-IC-Electric-3way-Hybrid-Cycle

I'd build my own from parts first and come out with a better bike for the same or less price. But that's me and I ain't counting my time and effort put into the project and I've got the skills, you may not.

It's being sold by an internet golf supply company.
Without the battery and motor that bike would retail in the under $100 price point.

BMSbattery, GreenBikeKit and elife all have kits around $500 delivered ($320 not shipped). But you have to be willing to take on a science project - mine wasn't plug and play like it should have been, and there were basically no instructions (other than a simplistic wiring diagram). Its fun if that is what you want, but for others, its a lot easier to get a pre-built bike. I don't know which camp you fall into.

Here is the kit:

and the ongoing history of my builds:

I figured it out eventually, and the guys on endless-sphere helped verify what I was thinking. Without that support, it wouldn't have worked too well. If you get the same kit I got, I can help with questions. Its pretty easy if you have someone to ask questions to, but without that and the minimal instructions it can be pretty confusing.
