Best value e-bike kit?
What is the best value e-bike kit out there? Ideally I want something with a top speed of around 25mph and a range of at least 15 miles. Lithium ion preferred. I weigh about 220. I've seen a few nice kits but they go for 1400 dollars, well beyond my price range. Any input is appreciated!

This review is very favorable, and I'm considering one for my wife.

Here's a link to the company itself.

You want to put it together yourself?
Do you have any hills (or anything else that would need full power at slow speeds)?
My kit does about 20mph and costs ~$500 (incl shipping).
To get 25mph, you need about twice the power - probably 25 amps and 330 rpm (or over volt a 36v 250 rpm motor to 48v). The MAC 8T motor they sell will work for ya.
I think the best value kits (especially for newbies) are sold by em3ev.com. You can do cheaper if you are willing to do some research, go outside the general design parameters, and accept lower quality.

I had good luck with a Dillenger 350w kit, but it's top speed is about 20 mph. Look at ebay for a 1000w, 48V kit for about $200, then you'll have $300 for a battery; you could take a chance on BMSB. Total expenditure about $500. Ask the same question on endless sphere too where there are experts (especially dogman dan).
