Mirrycle Revisited - Adjustment ?

Hi,

I've had a mirrycle for a while now and just wondered how everyone else is getting on with setting them up ?

Particularly, has anyone had trouble getting a good rear view ?

TIA

Mine works great. I forget how I adjusted it it's been so long, but I set it up a little loose so I could readjust it after hitting something with it. No ride is complete with me unless I hit the mirror on something at least once, especially at home in the hallway by the front door.

I have Mountain Myrricles on both bikes, and love them. They give an excellent view rearward on the left bar.

I set mine up to make my bars as narrow as possible, and still be able to see well.

Starting at the bar, I point the first bar straight forward, and the next one UP. Then adjust the mirror itself, and make small adjustments of the stalks to see rearward.

Then, I tighten everything down, good and snug.

Hope that helps.

I just don't find it as easy to get a good view as with the original, with the angle adjust being above the lever I have to swing it in quite a lot or move my head out to get the best view.

This isn't an attack, I'm a mirrycle fan.

I just wondered if anyone else thought they could do with more adjustment in that area....

still dont see a clarification which one you refer to. .. Good luck with the unknown ..

Maybe replace the flat mirror with a stick on Bubble mirror for wider view.

Apologies, I mentioned the original (road) and am comparing it to the STI version.

I'd just like to be able to angle it in without having to swing it in so far, a couple of times I've caught myself not using it because of this.

I do have the mountain version, no problem with that (on a different bike).

I've also found this extension kit:

STI Road levers does leave the Bar end Plug as a Place to put the mirror. regular Mountain mirror Kit.

their catalog shoes one that mounts under the Rubber brake lever Hood as well

There Is a Rubber socket and a ball that holds the Mirror ,, in the bars end too , steady enough but not rigid

so it moves rather than breaks when bike falls over.
