The ad is brilliant.

Bikes: Windsor Fens, Giant Seek 0 (2014, Alfine 8 + discs)

I wonder how they get the signal in and out of a solid metal tube sealed on both ends?

Also if it just drops down into the bottom of the seat tube, well, my seat tube has been half full of water at times when I've been riding through heavy rains.

I briefly forgot what the ad was for at 1:37.

I do like the idea of a hidden GPS, am sure the designers will have to address the seat tube moisture issue and remind folks that you need to remember to reinstall and set the seatpost clamp after you install it.

Is there some sort of ongoing service fee for the cellular coverage?

Thanks for the link.

I've been thinking of something like this for years... to snag a few bike thieves with tempting targets.

Perhaps put one's bikes on the "friends and family plan"

But, you're right, I don't want to spend $50 a month to secure my bike. By now, I would have paid about 50x the original purchase price of the bike for cell phone bills. Prepaid cellular?

Bikes: 199? Landshark Roadshark, 198? Mondonico Diamond, 1987 Panasonic DX-5000, 1987 Bianchi Limited, Univega... Chrome..., 1989 Schwinn Woodlands, Motobecane USA Record, Raleigh Tokul 2

Dang, wish this got funded. Talk about peace of mind.

I mean, you can add a flip phone/tablet to your cell phone plan for something like $10? So if I could add this device to my plan for $10 a month I'd do it.
