Sigma ROX 6.0 cadence not working
Hi,
Picked up a new Sigma ROX 6.0 CAD off Amazon, because my 10yr old Sigma computer died on me last weekend. Anyway, everything works well, as in heart monitor, and speed sensor, except the cadence, which i've only seen working for no more than a few seconds.
The battery has been replaced.
I've pressed the mode 1 button down for three seconds to re-sync everything
I've tried both magnets
I've even moved the unit right next to the head unit, and simulated by swinging the magnet over the sensor, (which makes that ever so slight blip noise)
The magnet can't get any closer, than its current 1mm !!!
But the cadence on the head unit just flashes as zero.
Anyone else have any idea's or am I just unlucky.
I'll call Sigma up tomorrow.. Hopefully they can sort me out quickly. If not I'll just send the thing back to Amazon for a refund / replacement.

OK something weird is going on here. I rec'd my replacement today... Set it all up and same thing !!!! I've used BOTH magnets that they supplied. The magnet is registering and though the picture here is slightly blurry. Rest assured that magnet is as close as you're going to get. The cadence transmitter is as close to the front as you're going to get AND the main computer is on the stem. Taking both placements into consideration, its a few inches less to transmit in these locations ! I'm really scratching my head here.
Could it be that I have my iPhone with me that knocking out the signal ? Could it be that my pedal is aluminum? Clutching at straws here. Everything is installed correctly.. Heart and speed works fine.. Its just the the cadence isn't. This is the 2nd unit I rec'd to replace the first.

Hi guys,
Had the same problem as you describe, already announced the supplier for the warranty. But, I discovered that when I took the cadence sensor off the bike and activated it with the magnet, it worked!
So I concluded that the signal was not received properly by the computer, and indeed, it was. Because I see on the pictures that you have placed the computer on the bar exactly as I did. In this case the frame and all the aluminium casts a too big show in the rf beam between the sensor and the computer.
I moved the computer to the perpendicular steering bar to the left, so that the computer and the sensor can "see" each other and that did the job for me.
Now my cadence sensor is online every time.
Try it and let me know, good luck.

You are the MAN !!!!!!!! This worked for me. I just moved the computer to the left which from a distance standpoint, is actually further away, but as you've pointed out, its a clearer line of sight. AND IT WORKS !!!! After doing an exchange and buying the neo super magnets (or whatever they're called) online I just gave up on it, and said to myself, oh well at least the speed and HR works great ! I'll just live without the cadence and forgot all about it.. Then read your post tonight and thought oh well what have i got to lose.... and it worked... Just got to get the sticky pad off my stem and get some padded double sided tape to better secure it on its new home. The left side of the handlebar.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

reply about ROX bike computer not working with light
it took me WEEKS and much anguish to figure out why my brand new rox 5.0 (and the seller sent me TWO that i tested)...
was working INTERMITTENTLY...
it was my very expensive $400.00 exposure maxx-D light!
when the light was 'on' -- my rox 5.0 readouts would blank out
when the light was 'off' -- no problems
so do this:
1. make sure all of your sensors are on the SAME SIDE of the rox 5.0
(you need direct line of sight)
2, move your light as far away as possible from the rox
=============================
i STILL have occasional issues because i can't move my light far enough away
