Hand-held GPS vs iPhone
I am looking to add GPS to my bicycle cockpit. I already have a Garmin Oregon and an iPhone. My concern is that when using a GPS app on the iPhone, the battery charge gets used up fairly quickly. Is a hand-held GPS a better choice for directions/mapping? I already have a Cateye computer for distance, speed, etc.

Depends on which iPhone you have, and you can always get an external battery. I like using my phone for just a phone, personally.
Best advice is to look for a garmin 500 on sale somewhere and just get that. or 510, now that the 520 is out.

I would use the Oregon. It has better battery life, is easier to read in sun light and is waterproof. You can get a bike mount for $10 https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/shop...-11023-00.html
