Basic Android app for casual bike-path style??

Looking for an Android app for casual biking, on bike paths or short local country road loops, just to get an idea of what I did after the ride.

No data plan involved.
No need for live values or advanced statistics, phone will be in a saddlebag.

Maybe I just need a GPS app with basic trip stats (avg, top speeds, etc.)?

Suggestions, among the myriad of apps out there?

The free version of MapMyRide is a good app. I've used it in the past on both MUP and road rides, and now that my Garmin Edge 800 has died, I'll probably be going back to it.

I use an older iPhone 4s a friend gave me after he upgraded. No data plan yet either. I use the apps a lot.

I like Cyclemeter's freebie version (I think the Android equivalent is Cyclometer?) to record my basic ride data: distance, speed (also broken down per mile segment), route. Even without a data plan the GPS works and I can review the route map later after I have wifi connection. I may upgrade to the paid version, which records more data, and eliminates the ads.

And I downloaded "OSM and Maps" to the phone so I have realtime map access as I need it. It's a little slow but I only consult it when I'm hopelessly lost.

Tried Strava, Map My Ride, Ride With GPS, didn't really care for 'em for my casual purposes. I'm not really interested in what other riders are doing, competition, etc.

Take a look at Locus Maps
Locus Map - mobile outdoor navigation app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....android.locus

It should do everything that you want now. Also works with the Wahoo Rflkt if you will want to use the navigation features but still keep your phone safely tucked away.

There is a paid-for pro version. The differences between the two versions are listed here

For what you are asking for, I would try the Wahoo Fitness app. While it is made to be used with their sensors and other products, it does work without them. Just skip over the step to add your sensors. It's totally free, does not require an upgrade subscription to get more features and there are no annoying advertisements like there are on other trial versions of cycling apps. I use the Wahoo Fitness app as a backup to my cycling app and it works just fine.

Just tried Wahoo on a short trip. Looks great! Quicker than Cyclemeter to start up, auto detects pauses and resumed rides. Thanks for the tip.
