Safe time to buy a garmin 520?

I've been wanting to get a garmin 520 for a little while, and they are currently on sale.

But i'm wondering if I buy one now if they are safe for a bit? I don't know what the refresh cycle is on these and would hate to get one if a newer version is expected out soon.

I would guess the 530 is probably about two years away. Give or take. There will probably be a successor to the 1000 in the spring.

I found the bundle at Evans Cycles for 258+10 shipping. Ordered it late yesterday (Monday) and shipping notification says it will get to Colorado tomorrow.

[Grouch mode on] Buy a new GPS if you need one, or want one. The new stuff will be old stuff within a year, and nobody cares what you're riding with except you. They're following the trendiness of cell phones; when somebody came in to work last spring with a new iPhone, the only question asked was, "Did you get a gold one?"

$195 for a basic 520 is a steal as well.

Note that this is a $249.99 unit with a nashbar 22% off deal thru 12/27.

I bought an 800 after the 810 came out, and I have been pretty happy with it. Years later, it still works and there is no downside to having it vs. something newer.
