What do I need in order to get going with smart trainer?

I'm currently using Cyclops Fluid 2 trainer (once Fall comes back around). I was looking at going with the Cycleops Power Beam Ant+ I'd like to be able to get on Zwift or something similar. I'm not real tech savvy and the LBSs I've spoken with so far don't seem real sure.

Here's what I have, what do I need to do? I have Apple computer downstairs with router. The trainer would be upstairs in the garage and I have a smart tv in front of it. I don't have a smart phone or tablet. How would I get the Zwift app to the tv? I do have a Garmin 1000 headunit but I don't think that matters aside from checking cadence and power from the trainer. Any thoughts on what I need would be most appreciated as it all seems complicated to me. P.S. I am well aware I could do some things with the Fluid 2 trainer I have now but I want to use a smart trainer. Cheers

Zwift is in beta with an AppleTV Gen4 version.

Zwift requires some computer -- iPhone, iPad, PC or Mac (or AppleTV) -- connected to your screen, and compatible sensor(s) -- Bluetooth for iOS and I think either ANT+ or Bluetooth for PC or Mac -- close to both your trainer and your computer.

I bought a bkool trainer off of nashbar for around $550. It has an ant+ that plugs into my laptop. I've tried the Zwift thing and it is kind of neat, but Bkool seems better for me , much much much more routes. Flat routes, hilly routes, long routes, short routes. Velodromes, 45min training sessions, custom work out plans etc. It came with a free year of
subscription. Sometimes I plug it into my 60" screen when the wife lets me.

You might do better posting this question in the electronics and gadgets forum.

That's where tech savvy folks hangout, here it's mostly folks more focused on riding.
