Handlebar central-mounting for lights
Hi all,
I have been trying to find some solutions for a bracket to mount a front headlight as centrally as possible on my handlebar, with little success. While browsing the Trek website, I came across this image of a handlebar mounted light. Its on the product page for the Trek Dual Sport 4. trek.scene7.com/is/image/TrekBicycleProducts/DS4_19_23176_A_Accessory2?$responsive-pjpg$&wid=1920&hei=1440 What is this part that comes right off the stem and mounts the light centrally on the handlebar? Thank you! |
I like that, but it's probably proprietary to them. link assist

There are tons of mounts that can centrally place a light. Depending on your light, typically it would attach with a GoPro adapter or some silicone bands. BarFly and K-edge are two brand names, lots of clones out there as well.

As mentioned above there are tons of mounting options. When you use a gopro adapter, just go on amazon, aliexpress or banggood and you'll drown in options.
For dyno lamps: there are central mounting holters from Trelock and Busch & Müller, as well as special stems with integrated light holder from supernova lights (probably similar to the one from trek) There are plenty of bar extenders, besides the amazon/chinastuff good ones are the topeak barxtender and minoura holders (e.g., the swing-grip). A neat gopro mounting option is mady by ritchey ("universal stem mount") |

On some bikes I have two headlights, one each side of the center. If you have the light on for a long time, and the battery goes flat, you can use the other.

Wouldn't something like this work?: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=bike+hand...b_sb_ss_i_3_21

Ah thanks! I was using a very poor choice of search words.
I like the the ones suggested by freeranger and the minoura holder suggested by polyphrast which seem light and cheap, but the reviews on Amazon make me think its a hit or miss. Will have to just try one out and see! While researching some more for a cheap solution, I stumbled upon a fork bracket called the CatEye Center Fork Bracket as an alternative central mounting option but did not go ahead with it as it is hard to reach the light from the saddle. |
Here are some similar mounts to those suggested.
I've used the dashboard genie. Company is solid. https://bdopcycling.com/computer-cam...-light-mounts/ |
I saw this the other day, looks interesting. https://www.f3cycling.com/formmount

If you've already got a computer mount you may be able to get some go pro adapters. I have a garmin computer and put a gopro adapter on the bottom of it and a gopro adapter on my light. Combined with some furniture brackets I've now got a pretty flexible setup (I've since put on matching screws :) ).

Ritchey has an adapter for Ritchey stems that might be able to be adapted to other stems:
