I've looked, perhaps I've missed it. Is there some setting to get rid of the blankety -blank "Ride Paused" that covers the entire bottom half of the screen? I mean, I know I paused, there's an audible sound confirming it, why this blasted message screen?

I hit the "page" button on the bottom right to remove the ride paused notice.
