speedometer problems with Cateye
I have more than one Cateye. Strada slim and padrone.
Both drop speed occasionally. It's kind of annoying when I'm doing a timed event.
I'm either going to buy another Cateye slim or padrone in hope the problem has been fixed or get a different speedometer.
I will only pay less than $100.
I'd like wireless. and 2 trip meters like the Cateye slim.
Please throw me a bone.

Usually with things like wheel sensors (speed) it's just a matter of adjustment. I've had few problems with mine. All were the first year I had it before finally getting it aligned with the magnet properly, circa 2010.
I'm a Garmin user and well above your budget, so I can't say I've had any experience with Cateye. An app on your phone should be able to give you a GPS backup of your speed if it's that critical to what ever you are doing.

You can get a Lezyne Macro or XOSS(?) GPS unit for under $100 and perhaps get more for your money. If you go for the Lezyne, make sure you get the 2020 model. I notice that ebay now lists a number of Lezynes that are 2 generations back for the same cost or more than the current generation.
In any case, if your sensor has a magnet, you can get better readings with greater distance between sensor and magnet if you use something like the neodymium magnets available from local hardware stores and the other usual suspects.

Don't forget to make sure your wheel sensor is compatible with the Leyzne or else you'll have to add that to your budget, or make sure you get a combo package.
