Nite Rider headlight bracket vibrates on chip seal too much

I was on my standard road ride yesterday with my new Nite Rider headlight in the mount on my carbon bars over my handlebar tape and noticed more noise than its predecessor that had failed. It is not the rubber mount with the notches, but the screw type which you can get tighter. But the sliders on the sides seem a little sloppy which sets up a situation where you get a type of harmonic vibration going on. My new headlight came with the same screw type mount so I just re-used my old one. I was just curious if anyone might have a suggestion about a type of gasket I could make up to put between the sliders and the light to help reduce noise and vibration on chip seal, thanks.

A dab of permatex gasket maker has in the past aided in resolving some accessory NVH. I let it set up until it's tacky & firm to the touch before assembling.
