Building LED rear light?
Has anybody built their own rear light? It's currently semi-dark during my morning commute, and I'm afraid my little rear LED (PlanetBike) is getting lost in the "noise" of streetlights, car lights, etc. I'm thinking a Dinotte-style rear light would make a good project, but I haven't seen much about what optics to use, and how to get the red color (lens, or with the LED itself)?

Here is my home job 1 watt red LED upgrade mini mag. The LED is white but shines red when lit.

I should get a picture in the dark on the road like Dinotte has. I think mine is as bright, I use it in daylight and people tell my my light is bright even in the day time.

I also modified the mini mag so that I didn't have to un-screw the head to turn it on. I added the tail switch.

Then I used a refloctor mount.

And then an old light mount from an old cateye to strap the light to the bracket.
