Cateye Wireless Froze

When I first left the house it was about 30 to 40 degree out. My cateye worked for about 1.8 miles and then just showed under DST setting 0. 0 for speed and the distance never changed after 1.8. It didn't work the whole ride and once I got back in the house about 20 minutes later I spun the wheel and it worked. 30 to 40 shouldn't have froze it. Anyone have any ideas.

Too cold for the battery in the sensor.
Mine did the same thing that is why I don't use wireless any more.

I've had the Cateye Wireless for about 6 years now and in severe cold it does stop, but then so did my older wired job. Don't forget as you ride faster the wind chill increases and the battery is colder then when not moving. The same thing happens to my Canon Eos camera in sub freezing tempertures which is why I have a mechanical Pentax K1000.
