Edge 705 POWER?
Edge 705 works with third-party ANT+Sport-enabled power meters (check back soon to view list of compatible devices) to display your power output in watts as you ride. This valuable data shows you how hard you're working, regardless of conditions affecting your ride, so you can train smarter. Get a competitive advantage by viewing power output along with Edge data all on the same display and storing this information to analyze your workout.
Has anyone use their Edge 705 as a power meter? How does it work?

Browse over here, I have seen some talk about folks using the power features there, albeit not a lot yet:

I am paraphrasing from my post on the motion-based forum, but the problem is that most of the power meter choices are problematic:
SRM - limited crank selection and very expensive.
Quarq/Cinqo - a much crappier crank selection, no compact choice yet
iBike - accuracy problems, not a "true" power solution
So some people with SRMs are doing it right now, but I am only hoping that Powertap gets it working, cause for the money of an SRM you could buy several PT deep carbon wheels.
