Are streetlights bright enough to go full speed on?

I notice my fenix l2D is completely washed out by streetlights. Does this mean streetlights are bright enough to ride full speed on ( 20+ mph )?

NO, it means your fenix is too weak.

Depends on how well you know the streets, the conditions and your eyesight.

In some places in Boston, the street lights are placed so close together you can read a paper outside at night. The result is that cars can't tell if there headlights are on or off. I see a car running without headlights at least once a week.
If its that bright, go a head, ride full speed. Cars do it all the time around here.

Well, you can't outrun streetlights like I did two nights ago in a wooded trail. Doing about 14mph on a slight downgrade. Trail went right before I could. Dumped me on my right side and slid a couple feet, just still a little sore raking leaves today. 47 yr old body starts to feel it. Oh, I had two Flare 5's and a Coast 7736, beams ended about 15 ft. out in front. No other illumination.

Yeah, but mounting a streetlight to the handlebar makes the bike steer weird.

Seriously though, if you have enough light to see road hazards, then go whatever speed suits you.
