Sure, "cool" is where it's at . . . and is the reason I have a clothspin and playing cards in the spokes of my Madone. Way cool motor sounds.

If you like it buy it. Why worry about what others think, you will always find someone who really likes it and those that don't.
I like the signature of one member (whom I do not recall off hand) whose signature is something to the effect, that what ever you wear today will look silly twenty years from now. All that matters is if YOU like it. If it was cool and you didn't like it would you buy it anyway? I would not. |

Does this mean it's okay to keep riding in my leisure suit? I get these strange looks, you know, so I was beginning to wonder maybe that had something to do with it. :p
Hey, if it works for you go ahead. :) Maybe the looks are looks of jealousy. :roflmao2: |
I guess if you are going to be in a bunch of parades etc.
|
Make sure you get them in rainbow colors and that your bike color matches your outfit.

Cool? No. In the same way that wearing pants down around your arse isn't cool. In the same way that being a Chav isn't cool. In the way that modifying the body, wheels, and exhaust on an otherwise bone-stock Honda isn't cool. In the way that any other male attempt to over-compensate for a perceived "shortage" in the package department is not cool.
Visible? Yes. Dorky as hell? Yes. It's the bike equivalent of wearing a day-glo safety vest when you ride. |

What ever keeps you alive is cool. It might still be effective if it was slightly smaller. In my case it won't help from the rear. Panniers get in the way.

I'd say go for it if you ride a chopper or live in California
|
I think they have a negative "cool factor"; however, when I was commuting on my bike and the days were not long enough to provide light I'd have hung the marker lights from a kenworth on the back if I thought it might help keep some schmuck in a cage from hitting me.
I'd hang a couple on the seat stays for after dark commutes, and they might be fun on night time single track rides. |
Less expensive, and arguably more / less ostentatious: BikeGlow
|
Yes, i been living in Los Angeles for many yrs and i think it's cool for some reason or the other, the lime green looks cool indeed, i can always have the option to turn it on/off, 4th of July is a good time to have it on at night.

Chav..aka Clockwork Orange wanna be?

I have two amber DLG neon tubes on the back of my Big Dummy. I think it makes me safer. I don't care what others think about it. Neither should you.
If you like it, go for it. |
