Overvolting a compact fluorescent?

Anyone know if a 12v compact fluorescent can be overvolted to 14.4 volts? Will this have the same effect it would have on an incandescent, or will it get fried?

I think you'll find they step the voltage up, so trying to overvolt them will either achieve nothing (depending on the input voltage range) or you might re-invent the firework.

I'm sure you'll get more knowledgeable replies shortly...

You might get better responses here: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/

But this does beg the question, what exactly are you trying to do?
