Distance tracker

Just wondering what all of you guys/gals use for keeping track of distance and average MPH, things like that. I just got my bike last week and started riding, but would like to keep track of how much I'm riding it and about what speed I'm staying at. Obviously nothing too expensive, but what ever gets the job done. Thanks.

The followup post made a big difference. Check out Runkeeper!

There's a free version that will probably suit your needs.. www.runkeeper.com. Works great for me, I'm thinking about buying the pro version just because the app is so great.

I use sporttracks to keep logs. This SW can download my info from my garmin 305 and can graph/analyse it in a myriad of ways.

Just picked up a Specialized one for $70. It's wireless with cadence. Hopefully it's worth it. I'll put it on tonight and try it out

you know it's not necessary to run anything on the phone or get a phone computer, if all you want to do is just check the distance between your paths.

use either https://veloroutes.org/ or https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

both are point and click maps on google that shows you the altitude, cadence, distance, time, etc, etc, etc....

just click the path you'll like to take, and compare between which routes you like most, or simply to find out how high/low/cadence was the steep hill you took

I just use my garmin nuvi 200 I bought last year for my car. got on evil bay and scored a handlebar mount for like 15 dollars. it does distance, top speed, moving avg, total moving time, total sitting time, and if you put in address or cross streets its accurate as hell on arrival time. this is handy if you commute so you know when you will get there no matter what route you take on the fly.
