Seeking opinions on best computer for 24hr events

I'm planning on entering my first 24 hr endurance event next Jan at Sebring and would really have to upgrade my computer. I'm currently using a el-cheapo Bell unit that has served me well during training and century rides, but the fact that I have to compute my actual average MPH after the ride (since it only computes the average MPH while moving), plus having to use a non integrated HRM is getting annoying to say the least.

Downloading capabilities would be a plus but not necessary- same for GPS (are there any that get over 15 hours on a charge?)

Any help is greatly appreciated.....
