Wind-up Light System?

Hope I am not redundant in asking: Anyone seen or tried this product?

They look quite good as just an emergency light. Wouldn't use it as my only light though. But a phone charger too... might get one someday.

Thanks for the heads up

I've got a wind-up flashlight/radio/cellphone charger/etc. The output on the lamp is pathetic. I seriously doubt this would be a good solution.

Well, imagine it this way. You do get pretty good light out of a dynamo system, which is powered by your legs, and keeping that running with your hands instead would probably be about as much as you cared to do long term with one hand. So if you wanted to crank a light 1 minute for every minute that you were going to ride, you could probably get decent output. Since 1 minute on that thing gives you 8 minutes of burn, I'd guess that you'd be getting about 1/8 of a decent output.

But even that pitiful assessment assumes that this is a high quality system like a B&M light with a good dynamo would be. In fact, at 15 pounds, that thing is almost certainly complete garbage. You can't even get a good battery light for 15 pounds, let alone headlight plus taillight, let alone those plus a hand crank dynamo.

Bottom line, that thing is probably only good for separating people from 15 pounds.
