My Tracks for Android or Android app that will track Best time
IM looking for a non subscription based application that i can use to track the same route for time so i can challenge myself to beat my previous time.
Im currently using MyTracks for the Android. Im hoping this works. Does anyone else know of an app/gps that will trakc "best times".
This MyTracks seems to have alot of stuff but im not seeing that. YOu can upload the stuff to googleAPPS and then track your progress via spreadsheets. Maybe that will have to be good enough.

I would give the cardiotrainer app a try.. I use it for riding and running and it works great.. The main app is free, the race against yourself feature is 2.99.. I think you can try it for free..

I've been doing this for years using the lap feature in my Polar 720 and (when I remember) a spreadsheet. The low-cost way would be a stopwatch (on the phone if you insist) and remember (or write it down or text it to yourself) the elapsed time and just plot it.
For something more elaborate, I'd look at MyTracks plus a spreadsheet, or the ridewithgps site if you want to bother with export & uploading. While I have not looked at it, cardiotrainer but if it does what you want in one app, that may be the way to go.

Thanks!
Ill try them out. I really like the race against myself feature idea. I usually just use my cateye bike computer stopwatch. I figure now i have this fancy phone..i should try to see if there is somthing better to use with a GPS feature.

I have been using RideTrac. It keeps a database of your rides and the times, speeds, elevation, etc. You can lookup any ride by date/time but it still requires you to use a spreadsheet or something else if you want a consolidated view of times and distance. It does export but I haven't tried that. It looks like MyTracks is better I am going to give it a try tonight.

I use MyTracks because it's simple and I don't race myself. There is an android app that is really cool that was made specifically for racing yourself and others. It's called SoftRace. Very cool app.

welll i rode a 40 miler this weekend and it mytracks did a good job of maping my route and milage / time etc. Im going to try the softrace app next and see of that will work for the "race myself" feature im looking for. I just got this new droid so im not too keen on all the features yet. Im wondering now if you can use 2 gps apps at the same time. Maybe i can use both.
