Is there a "problem" with Magic Shine tail light switches?

I was going to get an MS tail light -reread a thread about them, and discovered that many users had an issue with the blink mode switching the light to different blink patterns, on in some cases the light turning "on" without warning.

So what is the story? Is there any confirmed issues with MS tail light operation?

Do they randomly change modes? Turn on or off without warning?

I know that mine changes between blink modes on its own as I ride, but I'm not sure if it isn't supposed to do it as it happens at regular intervals; never bothered to read up on it. In any case, it blinks, brightly, and that's what I want it to do so I don't really care.

Mine changes pattern as well...I just emailed GeoManGear (where I got it) to see what they have to say. I really want it to just flash every second (or whatever the interval is) - I don't want any dark time. It definitely is bright and doesn't really stop flashing, just cycles through the different patterns...

I'll be looking forward to the reply from Geoman - I'm supposing these tail lights come with 100 page instruction manuals?

To those that are having the mode changing problem, try this:

Slowly turn the lens as slow as possible until it change mode and stop right away. Do your normal ride. Try this for a week and see if it keeps changing mode.

After that, try again slowly turn the lens until it change mode and then rotate an additional 60 degree (same rotational direction) from that point. Leave it there and do your normal ride. Try this for a week and see if this fix the problem.

I'm also interested to know because it did for me.

You know - one thing that concerns me is that a light with a "turn switch" will not remain as water proof as a normal o-ring sealed "break apart" light.

But on the other hand, if they are selling it at 29.95 - its pretty much who cares?

Yeah, I've tried turning it very slowly; doesn't seem to make a difference. My light has gotten wet plenty of times, no issues so far, but I hear what you're saying.
