Helmet Cam

Is there a small camera out that will mount inside the large vent of a Giro Ionos helmet that is high definition? Thanks

I use the following:

https://cgi.ebay.com/Spy-Camera-Key-C...89139820565961

$9 with free shipping. If you use a 8gb card you get close to 4 hours of 720x480, 30fps video. Works great and velcros to my helmet.

I don't think you can currently get high definition for less than about $200.

Dude..its NINE BUCKS! Isnt it worth that to play around with? FYI: Im only using a 4gb card in mine and regularly get 2 hours before the card is full - not the battery flat. The links states an hour, but I get much more. The video is excellent with full audio.

Not to mention it weighs close to nothing and is so small people dont give you that look as they wonder why you have a full-sized camera strapped to your helmet. Mine sits in the helmet channel and Ive talked to many a cyclist on my rides and they dont even know its there.

However, its not waterproof - just an FYI

I love mine - worth every penny and if I lose it - no big deal

Absolutely, and it's similar to the $16 one that I have. But the OP specifically asked for HD and this isn't.

IMO, if all you're doing is playing around, cams like this are as good as anything else < $100. But if you want it for some specific purpose, especially if you intend to use it for evidence, you need HD.

I think the little cams are also worth picking up to see how you like doing video. If you do like doing it and have a couple hundred bucks, the video out of something like the HD Hero pro is incredible; the difference to the little cams or even the $100 cams is incredible.

Almost certainly a 640x480 sensor, interpolated up to 1280x720. In other words, it has built in blurring and tears up memory cards twice as fast for no reason. Probably anyway. The few that I've seen reviews of that are in that range with that specs do just interpolate up, the quality is no better, maybe worse.

this one looks like it might be a bit more HD even though it looks the same as the other ones.
