Droid ap for logging rides (without gps)
Hi,
I'm looking for a droid app for logging rides and keeping track of distance, ride length, avg. speed weather, etc. Don't want to do the gps tracking thing, just log rides after the fact. I used to use a palm program called pocolog and it's sister windows program bikelogit. From what I can find on the marketplace, cardiotrainer is about as close as I'm going to get by adding rides manually. Looking for something that does a little more. Anybody have any favorites?

you could use google spreadsheets and set up a web form for you to fill out after each ride. I've been using it for an inventory we're doing here, and a form for data collection is surprisingly easy/reasonable to use

I use AllsportGPS from Trimble Outdoors. But it does use the GPS. It can be downloaded from the Market and you can do a 7 day trial. It is inexpensive last I checked. Version 3 is the current version with a 4 in Beta that I am testing. It keeps track of a lot of things and puts them on maps.

Yea, I could do a spreadsheet...have done that in the past. I recently got an Archos 70 (7" tablet). Will be great to have for touring but a pia to carry on normal rides. I also don't want to be bothered w/dealing w/ a gps on most rides, but I do like to keep track of stuff. Ideally, it'd be nice to be able to plot graphs of a particular ride by date vs. time or speed or avg hr. Most of the apps I found will only give you a basic log of all rides with a running total.

Allsport will do that. I can post some of my rides for you to see tomorrow. Hard to do from my phone. As for the gps I don't know of a good program that will do what you want.

I have been using Runkeeper Pro on my Droid X. I do use the GPS function, but you don't HAVE to use it. I travel a lot for work, and use the app to log workouts at hotels in addition to rides at home. There is a website that will allow you to track your progress, and for an annual subscription you can get reporting trends, too.
I've been pleased. It does not have a spot to record weather, but you can put in notes on your rides. And, you can archive your rides, too, so you can easily log them later.
