Looking for computer with cadence and PC download capability
I had a Sigma BC2209 MHR STS+Alt and while you'd think it was a great computer at the price, I've had nothing but trouble with it. When the second brand new unit was not working properly right out of the box, I decided it was time to send it back to Amazon. My first thought was to pay the extra and just get a Garmin Edge 305 with the cadence sensor and HR monitor. However, apparently the Garmin has dismal battery life when used with the cadence sensor - something like barely 5 hours of runtime. That is going to be unacceptable on longer rides like centuries or brevets or randonnees. I'm a data junkie so I'd like something that allows me to download all my trip/ride info into a PC for analysis. I also really want cadence because I find it difficult to stick to my optimal cadence without a computer to show me and the result is I either mash gears or I spin out too much. Any suggestions? I see that VDO makes a unit similar to the Sigma BC 2209, but it's almost as much as a Garmin, which has more functionality even with the lower battery life.
