Garmin Edge 500 versus Joule GPS?

I was ready to buy the Garmin 500 when I came across the Joule GPS. Now, I don't know which one to get. I don't have a power meter but am interested in analyzing data and heart rate and cadence. I also am interested in gradient which I noticed that the Garmin does not have. However, I don't really know anyone with a Joule so I don't know anything about them.

Any thoughts/recommendations?

Thanks in advance.
