Sony Action Cam HDR-AS10/15
I have a new HDR-AS15 and just posted some video from it this evening.
Short answer: the base model HDR AS10 is quite nice for the price ($198). 1080p video is pretty good, not quite up to GoPro I think, but not far off. Low light performance is quite good, they use a backlit sensor to help this. This may be better than the GoPro.
In 720p mode they crank the compression way the heck up, I assume they figure that if you want quality you'll use 1080p, if you want a lot on a card you'll use 720p.
I haven't tried 60FPS or 120FPS mode yet.
The wifi features are kind of neat but for a helmet cam IMO pretty useless. I'm probably going to pick up another for rear-facing video, I don't think I'll get wifi for that one. I can think of a few things I might use the wifi one for but helmet cam is not one of them.

The headlight on the dark parts of the video is an original 900 (really 450) lumen MagicShine. The cam is mounted on the right side because on the left my mirror mount is right in the way.

The low light performance looks pretty good with the Sony. I purchased a Replay XD and it does a better job for low light in comparison with my old Contour, but the Sony looks like a little better than my Replay.
Some question:
What is the battery life running at HD, max Bit Rate, and 30fps?
Is there loop recording? If not, is the format function easy to use so that the card can be erase daily using that tool instead of removing the card and erasing with another device?
Sony's web listed as waterproof with housing, how water resistant is unit without the waterproof housing?
For the price being $100 less than Replay, it sound like a good unit worth consideration.
TIA
