I have something very similar to that. I purchased it in Scotland in 2012. It's a very good light.
For another $15, though, you can get a Niterider Solas or Cygolite Hotshot. I have a Niterider Solas, and it's much, much better than the 1/2 light.

Half a watt isn't enough.
I use my Hotshot as a backup now - I just got a Knog Blinder 4V and I really like it. The side visibility on it is crazy good. The Hotshot drops off badly if the observer is not almost directly behind the light.

The Knog series of lights look interesting. The only thing that bothers me is that there seems to be no way to properly aim the light if used on a seat post. Is there a tilt ( up/down ) adjustment on the mount? Even if the optics provide for a wider beam pattern I would still want to center the output directly straight out. A lot of money for a lamp if you can't aim it right.

What happens if you align the Hotshot slightly to the rider's left? So that a car coming from a distance would still see the light.
