Garmin 510 watts and cadence disappears???
I have had a Garmin 510 about 3 months. The last 2 rides all of a sudden the watts and cadence fields go blank. If I turn the 510 off and on again it will come back. That is not what I expect from a 400 dollar bike computer! Save your money guys!

This is disturbing! I've been looking for a "one gadget to rule them all" solution with power management due to my SON hub, and am coming back around to either Digifit on my iPhone, or a Sigma ROX 9.1. Digifit iBiker has nice on-line features, though I don't want to deal with a pile of batteries. I have some lower-level Sigmas and they've been very reliable. I have already given up on a Ciclo HAC and a Polar CS something. Polar make some great HRMs, but I'm not sure they did it right when they tried to expand to a cyclocomputer.
OTOH, Sigma make a great cyclocomputer, and I don't know how their HRM functions stack up to Polar.
But if ANT has a handful of batteries to manage, then it drops off of my list, and with it all Garmins and the whole iBiker suite.

joshnc, no, I haven't. I'm wondering if they have released a software update because mine did it several times the first couple of weeks I had it but hasn't done it at all for the last month.

Put the latest firmware update. I had to manually install the latest one on mine to get the power readings correct.
I have my 510 and my only gripe is that sometimes when I am resting my hands (sometimes on climbs I'll rest my forearms on the bars) I will inadvertently switch screens or do something funky. Otherwise it's a very nice computer.

Garmin has a reputation for putting out products with a good number of issues, but they also end up fixing the, with firmware updates.
I have a 500 and an 800 and love them both. In fact, I would have recommended that you get the 500 instead of the 510

why? I see a very clear price advantage.
