Cateye Strada Cadence Double Wireless question

Hello, I am trying to setup a Strada double wireless computer that I bought used on ebay.

The computer seems to be fully functional but I am unable to link the computer with the sensor.
I tried a variety of distances and angles.
I replaced the sensor battery but it doesn't link.

Is there anything else that I could do or try?

Are you following the procedure in the manual?

Make sure you follow the procedure in the manual and don't hold the computer too close to the sensor during the sync process.

I measured the distance to ensure I was following the directions, I held the computer in relation to the sensor to simulate actual use. I changed the battery in the sensor too. I have tried a few dozen times now, varying distance and angles with no success.

I see sensors for sale by themselves on ebay, will the computer work with a different sensor?

Try this:

  1. Unscrew sensor battery cover counter-clockwise.
  2. Remove old battery.
  3. Insert new CR2032 battery.
  4. Tighten battery cover.
  5. Hold Computer 12” from sensor
  6. Press the menu button
  7. Press the mode button until the ID page is displayed.
  8. Press and hold the mode button until the ID number cycles through the numbers quickly.
  9. Press the reset button on the sensor.
  10. When you release the reset button on the sensor, the ID nuber is displayed.
  11. Wait for the Clock page to appear. (Sometimes pressing the menu or mode button advances it properly).
  12. Assure the sensor is properly positioned and test the computer. The speed and cadence should now work.
