Garmin C/S
Last weekend my speed/cadence sensor battery died after a year or maybe it didn't as I had to reset the sensor after changing the battery. Replacing the battery cover the o-ring broke. I tried finding one locally without success. On Tuesday I emailed Garmin through their website from work using my work email. They auto responded that they received it. Two days later after them not contacting me with an answer of how to order one I called them. The estimated hold time was 20 minutes, I kid you not. After holding for about 15 minutes finally I was talking to a live person. He asked for my email address, I gave him my work email. He said that email was not on file and wanted to know what my email addy was for MyGarmin account. I don't know about others but I have 4 different email accounts and honestly can't always remember which one I use to register at various sites, after a pause though I guessed right. Back on hold for about 5 minutes. He returns to the line to tell me he is working on it. After another several minutes he asks for my address, pretty sure they already had that in their DB. They would send me a couple. My rant is had they answered my inquiry on Tuesday I would likely have the o-ring for my cx race on Sunday. Since they did not and I had to call them Thursday I'll have to move the one from my road bike. I'm happy that they are sending me a couple free of charge but really o-rings are a consumable and should be easier to get replacements.
Just thought others could benefit from a head's up that if you contact Garmin to use your registered email addy in communication.
