Maybe they will come out with a fly12 mount thats adaptable for the seat post.
Also, it would be cool they included an external battery that the camera can run off and would likely be a big selling point if they can have a camera that has a 8hr run time at 1080p.

I'll tell you one thing about the makers of fly6.. they have their **** together.. till this present day it's the only thing I've got from kickstarter that is actually in use... although my rideye should be here soon. The fly6 was delivered in a very reasonable time frame.. not 1 year late like the rideye.

Glad to hear the fly6 is working out for you
And yes, they seem to have their things in order.
What is 1 year late? like the ride eye was suppose to be delivered in 2014 and its technically 2015 so it's "1 year late"?

Yes I know about YouTube compression, so they should have posted raw video on their site.
The fly6 looks better executed but come on, they certainly took a leap when they said that the circular lights would tell drivers that they are being recorded. Don't take my word, its in their demo video. Drivers won't know and anyone that intentionally does something as one of the inventors suggested was his inspiration, won't care. Until communities actually care or municipalities do something to hold drivers accountable, it simply won't make much difference other than to give you as a cyclist some warm fuzzy feeling . This feeling lasts until you realize no one cares that you have a video.

Just checking out their sample footage and it does have a nice little shake.
Imagine if the fly6 and rideye combined.
that would yeild:
1080p
10-15 hours of battery life
a blinky
a stable mount
32gb looping memory
However, more cameras like these two will likely hit the stage in the next few years so I am sure more things will come. Plus competition is healthy and usually benefits the consumer.

We will all ride with front and rear facing cameras. They will be ubiquitous and dirt cheap. And American cities will follow London's lead and mount cameras on every street corner. With all this video surveillance it would be an anomaly if anything untoward should happen to a cyclist while out riding.
What a beautiful world this will be, what a glorious time to be free....We'll be eternally free yes and eternally young.

WWaldo is correct.. I backed rideye in 2013.. delivery was supposed to be first qtr14'.. I'm still without. I guess the only plus is I think it might have been 720p and is now 1080p for the delay. The fly12 look interesting because of the strava overlay metrics. I'd like to see how that pans out because I do like to see metrics now and then and I use my Garmin Virb Elite in the front for those days.

It would be cool if someone made a camera like the cannondale synapse head light. However external wired handlebars would get in the way.
Or if cannondale took this idea and made an actual light out of it, which would probably require external power, which is not a bad thing.

I finally got around to making a more stable mount for my Rideye:

Yes, it's more stable, but now I notice how many little steering corrections I'm always making, so the footage isn't all that much more stable.
So now I'm thinking about either mounting it to the frame or helmet.
But maybe it's me, has anyone had stability issues with other kinds of handlebar mounted action cams?

RIDEYE GOPRO ADAPTER ? Rideye
Looks like someone at rideye was looking at this thread
Now they just need a seat post mount to attach to the adapter. The price is 234.99 now with some sale they are doing.

Mounted on the helmet you will record every movement you head makes. So it's a give or take. I like the handlebars a little bit more just just to cut out the looking around.
A few helmets have a gopro adapter on them, which I thought was pretty cool.

just thinking about buying one
I found a takeapart picture of the new model Fly6 -- looks like they're using a no-name cylindrical li-ion cell, 18650 size commonly used for flashlights nowadays.
What does Cycliq do about replacing these when they degrade, anyone know? I've tried inquiring at their site.
Heck, if they'd build the camera part into something the size and threaded like any of the common flashlight heads, I could just put a standard flashlight battery tube on the thing and always have a fresh high capacity cell handy ....

Recently had an email conversation with their customer service about that and was told "we do not offer a replaceable battery with our units and a refurbishment program is something we are looking at." They also indicated that the Fly6 could be operated off an external battery so presumably that would also be an option - just keep a USB battery in a small saddlebag with a cable over to the Fly6.

I just purchased the FLY6v from Amazon during the Presidents Weekend sale. Was going to use an older PNY class 10 32Gb card but its write speed was slower than the Cycliq 8 Gb card that was included (approx. 7.83 Mbytes/sec). Does anyone know what might be the approximate minimum write speed that works with the Fly6v ? Cycliq responded with their microsd card list.
