Light bulb to LED conversion question

This has probably been covered many times before but I didn't see it... I want to replace 12v 6w automotive style lights coming in a dynamo set I ordered with LED's, is there a direct way to switch them, as in is there an LED I can just plug right in to the bulbs spot? Sorry for the ignorance.

Yeah, short answer is no (I'd love to be proven wrong), pretty much have to replace the head unit.

Here's the thread you're looking for: https://www.bikeforums.net/electronic...onversion.html

Now if it's a common halogen bulb size like an MR11 or MR16, you could probably find LED versions of those in a lot of hardware stores, not sure about the beam pattern though.

Now See-By LED front lights put out enough Heat in making Light, they must incorporate a Heat-sink in their design of the whole thing.

This is what I found this morning, I think it looks correct but hard to say until the dynamo set gets here. Maybe this will help others? We'll see...

I've Never seen a bayonet base Bulb on a bicycle Light .

the mention of Marine and Automotive uses was in the copy so you are talking about your Boat or Car.

I can't confirm absolute fit until it's physically in my hands, but the dynamo set is literally for 6w automotive bulbs... from the bread crumbs I've been able to find, that style of base. Like I said though "we'll see".

6 Volt 3W is all B&M * Makes... they dripped their 12V bottle dynamo a few years past.

the ones that I've seen as Bicycle lights were screw or flange base shared with Flashlights

if you got a Electric Bike then maybe the big propulsion battery will have the load capacity,

* Been standard fo bicycles for a Long time.

In this case, it's a cheap bottle dynamo set 12volt 6 watt. If you want I can post a link to the embarrassingly cheap set I ordered?

For the record: Two screw in type automotive bulbs and two bayonet type automotive bulbs(as I suspected) I've already found direct LED swap outs for all 4.
