Sounds like the kind of thing I like, anyone have any opinions before I put it on my birthday list?

I read that book and enjoyed it. There were no shattering revelations. It was just about a fine cross America ride at 40 to 50 miles per day with occasional stops for friends or family or a rest day here and there. It's written in a breezy style which was how the ride progressed. The author had a great time and you will too.

Good story. Would agree with berneŕ, not a NYT best seller, but not a waste of time either.
