Wide clipless shoes?

Do they make wide clipless shoes? I have tried about every LBS that I can think of and my 8EE feet just don't seem to fit in a decent bike shoe. I have also tried Keen sandals but they also were a little tight. Someone told me that New Balance makes a bike shoe, but I can't seem to find it. Any ideas? or does this old fart just continue on his platform pedals?

6E here - somehow folks reject riding sandals sort of out-of-hand. I guess they don't fit the "I am a real bicycler" mode.

I have worn them for 14 years. They are great. Have an open mind. Check them out. I have Shimano with SPD's.

My shoe size is 11-1/2 EEE and I've been riding with Sidi Genius mega shoes since 2007. Mega means wide.
I also have a pair of Specialized Pro Road shoes in wide width.
Do you have an REI or Performance store in your area? They usually carry Sidi and wide Shimano shoes. Specialized shoes can only be found at a Specialized bike shop. If you don't have REI or Perf your LBS can order shoes for you.

An 11½ EEEE foot here, I could get them built at Austal Shipyard, I suppose. I am a fan of the Sidi "Mega-" width sizing shoes. Sidi are pricey, but watch for the frequent sales on-line, if your LBS doesn't carry or want to order them. I got my Genius 5 in mega width from Competitive Cyclist for 1/2 off the MSRP, paid $149.95, shipping was free. As said above, Specialized has width sizing, as do a few others.

I hope that New Balance comes out with a cycling shoe, I will not buy any other running shoe than my beloved 990 series, I got my first pair in 1983. Four pairs reside in my closet right now.

Yup. 10.5 EEEE here. Only New Balance fit me at all.

OP: Some of the Bontrager shoes come in a wide width. The RL road, Velocis, and a couple others, I think. I just bought a pair of the Velocis in 44W and they're pretty much perfect. (I could have gone for the 43.5W, which also fit well, but the salesperson pointed out that I was actually between sizes, and recommended I go larger in case of foot swelling.) The velocis is a great shoe!

Lake makes wide shoes as well. That is what my 11.5 EE feet feel good with. Mine are "trekking" or mildly treaded mountain shoes... I think they have wide shoes in their road line-up as well.

11.5 4E here

Shimano makes a wide shoe, they work well for me. My roads are R087, the spd mt. shoe for me is M087. Good fit, comfortable shoes.

13 1/2-4E here. My Shimano R88/wide just barely fits and the short tongue really sux.

I wear a 14 in Converse, and a 13 wide in most dress shoes. I find Keens fit me well but I have to wear a 15 in them (and I have different pairs of Keens).

Lake also make shoes in a wide. I have a pair of their winter boots.
