new to forums new to road biking
Had a heart attack in april, bought my bike in june got all outfitted and decided to go clipless from the start. Used to ride alot in teen years, now 57 and time to get healthy. Doing about 100 miles a week and am going to ride the STP in july. 204 miles in 2 days. Read forums to self educate myself. I do the performance series ride every saturday morning and have found others to ride with also. Alot of knowledge on here. Thanks

You are doing GREAT if you bought a bike in June and are riding 100 miles per week and looking forward to the STP.
Congratulations on your progress - keep it up and keep us informed. This is a positive, supportive forum.

Thanks everyone, my inspiration is my wife of 30 years, my 24 year old son and my 14 yr ol daughter. Kinda want to be around awhile for them. My brother 1 year younger is the one who challenged me to ride the STP. He and his wife rode and completed last year for the first time. I'm next !

Glad to hear that you've taken up cycling, and have joined us here in the 50+. I have a friend who similarly had a heart attack a year + ago. Wish I could convince him that cycling is good for him.
