You'll be trading in one Arch for a Space Needle. If you do end up moving, we'll have to figure out how to get in one final ride with you, as a send off!

Three words, Dave: "Katy Trail Social".

You know, I think that's a great idea. Going from Missouri to Seattle is a big change - you may or may not like it. We're looking at retirement here fairly quickly, and the one piece of advice I always get is to not make any drastic changes right away.

Another thing to consider is that you'll probably not move again and they might. Or they might not really want to, or be able to, help take care of you when you need it. That's an issue worth discussing - we're going through that now with one each of our remaining parents. Fortunately, the one on my side is down by my sister and the parent on my wife's side is near us. It's a lot of work and it sort of implies that that child really can't move anywhere while that condition exists.

The extended visits are fine if you can afford it. Airfares are pretty cheap if you can go at non peak times especially when there is only two of you. You can buy a lot of tickets for the cost of a move.

To quote my elder son (who was born in Lynnwood and lived there for 10+ years), "I don't want to go THERE Dad - it RAINS!" He and his wife will be moving back to Boise this summer. It doesn't rain there.
