Those of you advocating early morning rides to beat the humidity seem to be missing the fact that, generally speaking, humidity rises at night, reaching its maximum right around dawn each day. So you're not beating the humidity at all riding early in the morning; on the contrary you're riding in the highest humidity of the day. What you are doing is riding when the temperature is generally at its lowest, which is likely what you're finding makes it more comfortable. I agree, though, that lower humidity makes for a much more comfortable ride, regardless of the temperature.

Here in the Atlanta area, I ride early in morning and hydrate more. I have noticed my pace drops off a little.

The actual humidity isn't necessary higher in the morning, the relative humidity is higher because of the lower temperature. Check the dew point, which is a better measurement of the moisture in the air.
